Typhoon Quinta update: No reports of casualty but 12 fishermen missing

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) still hasn't received any recorded deaths as of October 26 as 'Bagyong Quinta' continues to lash over the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Office of the Civil Defense reported.

However, the Bicol Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) announced that 12 fishermen went missing in Barangay Pananogan, Bato; Cagdarao, Panganiban, District 3, and Gigmoto in Catanduanes.

Around 2,823 families were affected by the typhoon in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

PAGASA said that the typhoon made landfall in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, Monday morning.

It is expected to "re-intensify" and may reach its peak intensity within 24 to 48 hours and is forecast to leave the PAR on Tuesday morning, the state weather bureau said.

Affected citizens are advised to remain aware, have a constant check on weather updates, and listen to authorities' advice.
