Constant raining causes flooding in Tuburan town

High levels of floodwaters batter Tuburan town, northwestern Cebu, following non-stop rain since Tuesday night on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.


Based on the situation report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDDRMO), thirteen barangays were affected in the town of Tuburan, namely; Colonia, Fortaleza, Sangi, Jagbuaya, Manga, Otso, Caridad, Marmol, Mag-atubang, Mag-Alwa, Mag-Antoy, Amatungan, and Languyon.



The depth of the waters in Barangay Colonia reaches up to the neck after the Caridad River overflowed.


Yesterday, the search and rescue operation carried out by the local disaster office in the city was made difficult because their vehicles could not pass through the flood.


Those affected were evacuated to CTU-Tuburan. No casualties were reported in the floods.

Meanwhile, Danao City, Balamban, Barangay Estaca, and Dapdap in Compostela we're also flooded, and even the Barangay Owak, Sta. Lucia, Labangon, Lunas, and Bago in Asturias after the Sangi River overflowed.
