Lapu-Lapu lights up Christmas 'Tree of Hope'

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard "Ahong" Chan, together with the city council, successfully conducted a Christmas tree lighting event held at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall Grounds on December 1, 2020, at 6 p.m.

Pasko sa Lapu-Lapu 2020 Christmas Lighting is a remarkable way to start Christmas in the town despite the pandemic.

The grounds of City Hall are overflowing with beautiful colored lights and festive music that makes every Oponganon feel the breeze of the real Christmas air.

The 30 feet (ft) Christmas tree, which carries a glimmer of hope, is jointly created by inmates from the Lapu-Lapu City Jail.

It reminds the Oponganons of the excitement that most of them hoped to feel during the past months they were under quarantine as everyone wishes to survive this pandemic and recover from the lost livelihoods.

The Oponganon's "Tree of Hope" can be viewed and visited in front of the Lapu-Lapu City Hall Grounds, where taking pictures is free of charge.
