Senator Nancy Binay says no to 'Marcos day bill'

Senator Nancy Binay clarified that she did not approve of making the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos's birthday a special non-working holiday.

The bill proposing the holiday every September 11 in Ilocos Norte commemorating the late dictator was approved by the upper house panel last Monday, October 26, 2020.

"I wish to reiterate that I did not vote for the approval of the bill and will not support any bill that would cause historical revisionism," said Binay.

Binay's father, the former Vice President Jejomar Binay, was known to be one of the lawyers of the victims of Martial Law.
