Philippines permits foreign investors to enter starting Nov. 1

Effective November 1, the Philippine government will allow foreign investors to enter the country, Malacañang said on Friday.

Foreign investors that have visas issued by the immigration department under the Omnibus Investment codes will be allowed to enter the country.

However, Roque clarified that while foreigners with 47A2 visas are allowed in the said policy, foreign tourists are not.

"Ang mga ordinaryong tourist visa holders hindi pa rin po pinapayagan at lahat nga po na mga na-isyung mga tourist visa sa mga nakalipas na panahon ay na-revoke na po," Roque stated.

IATF re-assures that they will still strictly observe health protocols as soon as this approved resolution takes place.

"In addition, they must be subject to the maximum capacity of inbound passengers at the port and date of entry and must follow applicable immigration laws, rules, and regulations," Roque added.

The palace sees this as an opportunity to help recover the economy's loss due to the pandemic, hoping to hinder its further decline.
