Philippine government stays neutral in Trump vs Biden presidential elections

As the US President Donald Trump and former Vice-President Joe Biden are in a close race to win the position in the White House, Malacañang cleared its neutrality between the two parties saying the Philippines can work with any US president.

"Kahit sino po ang manalo, wala pong problema ang ating Presidente" Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated in a press briefing.

Although President Rodrigo Duterte referred to Trump as his "friend" in his previous speeches and has been vocally supportive of him, Roque is confident that Duterte can establish "equally warm personal relations" if ever opposing party wins.

As of now, Biden is leading with 264 electoral votes, while Trump is behind with 214. Whoever hits 270 votes shall win the poll.
