Nurses in Cebu province to receive salary raise

Updated: Oct 12, 2020

Nurses working under the Cebu provincial government will receive a salary increase.

The approved proposal authored by the head of Budget and Appropriations Committee, Glenn Anthony Soco, is inclusive to all nurses from regular to part-time, from provincial and district hospitals to Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).

“Nurses are literally the lifeblood in any healthcare institution. They spend most of their time with patient care, emergency response, both emergency care and even outpatient medical services,” according to Soco.

Corresponding to the ordinance, the salaries of province-hired nurses with Nurse l status will increase from P22,316 to P32,053.

Those with the Nurse ll positions will receive P41,508 instead of P35,097. Nurses with Nurse lll positions will have an increase from P41,508 to P49,835 and nurses with Nurse IV positions receive P49,835 instead of P55,799 a month.

Nurses from private institutions are not included in the salary increase.
