IATF eases COVID-19 age restrictions on going out

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management (IATF) conceded to the change of the stay-at-home age restrictions, allowing people aged 15 to 65 to go out of their homes to buy necessities and goods.

Amidst this, the government still encourages the Local Government Units (LGUs) to uphold tight restrictions if needed, stating that they have the freedom to impose a higher age limit for minors depending on the area's status.

In compliance with this, Mayor Edgar Labella of Cebu City is to release an amendatory executive order after the approval from the IATF. However, sports events that can attract crowds are still prohibited.

Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan of Lapu- Lapu City is looking forward to easing health and quarantine protocols in hotels and tourism establishments when dealing with tourists.

On the other hand, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes pleads his constituents to continue observing self-restraint and discipline even if the health protocols are less constrained now.

Covid cases in the Philippines hit 359, 169 as of October 19, 2020. 42, 191 of these are active cases while the overall death toll reached 6,675.
