President Duterte addressed the nation on Thursday after the hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo trended on Twitter, expressing his eagerness to visit the areas affected by typhoon Ulysses but was not allowed by the military and other officials.
"Gusto kong pumunta doon, makipaglangoy nga sa inyo. Ang problema, pinipigilan ako kasi raw 'pag namatay ako, isa tang daw ang presidente." Duterte said during the nation address.
"Sabi ko, eh may vice president naman. Wala naman sila sinasagot, nagtitinginan lang sila tapos hindi... 'hindi ka pwedeng mamatay gong panahon na ito kung malunod ka malulunod kaming lahat na nagtatrabaho sa iyo." He added.
Meanwhile, Duterte assured Filipinos that the government is ready to respond to their needs in this battle against the typhoon Ulysses.
