Britney Spears' father hires manager to extend "full functional control" over her money and material

Despite having all the fame and success Britney Spears had throughout the years, everything she does is still dependent on her father, Jaime Spears' decision.

However, the singer is determined to stop him from controlling her life.

Recently, The 38-year-old singer stated that for her father to continue having control of her money and material - which includes albums - he abruptly hired a manager named Michael Kane from an accounting firm in Los Angeles.

The singer made the claims as reported in a tabloid website named TMZ, last Wednesday.

She then asked the court for the private organization - Bessemer Trust Organization (BTO) - to receive total control of her conservatorship (the managing of the singer’s financial affairs and daily life) and remove the power away from Jaime, who has been in control of her for over 12 years.

The conservatorship fiasco started in 2008 when the singer had a breakdown causing her to go to rehab and hospitalization.

Way back then, even when she experienced battles with her mental health, her career never stopped, and still performs in concerts while fighting for her freedom.

With this, Britney Spears’ loyal and longtime fans started the #FreeBritney movement to raise awareness of the conservatorship that the pop singer is undergoing.

Also, her siblings and mother have supported this movement.

Among them is her brother, Bryan Spears, who said that Britney wanted to be free from her father, who always has a say on what she should and should not do.

"She's always wanted to get out of it. It's very frustrating to have -whether someone's coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating." Bryan stated in a podcast last July 2020.

Britney posted on her Instagram last Monday after nearly two weeks of silence on social media to tell her fans that she is in a good state.

"So, I know there have been a lot of comments and a lot of people saying a lot of different things about me, but I just want to let you guys know that I am fine," the singer posted.

“I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life," she added.

The singer’s third studio album entitled “Britney” celebrates its 19th-anniversary today with singles such as the top-10 hit, “I’m a Slave 4 U”, “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet a Woman”, and many more.
