2 dead, 8 injured, 4 missing in Camarines Norte after 'Ulysses' cuts through Bicol

Two people died, eight residents were injured, while four are still missing in Camarines Norte after Typhoon Ulysses battered the Bicol Region, according to the situation report released by the Office of Civil Defense Region V at past noon this day.


The two casualties came from the municipalities of Daet and Talisay, respectively.

Meanwhile, three of those who were missing came from the town of Vinzon, while the eight who were injured came from Mercedes, Basud, Daet, and Vinzon.



The OCD added that as of noon, a total of 57, 719 have been displaced. Of which, 582 were inside evacuation centers while 2, 140 were outside shelters.


During the height of Typhoon Ulysses in the Bicol region, 37 municipalities were flooded as landslides occurred in four towns.


Residents stated that above all the typhoons that have passed their area this year, it was only during Typhoon Ulysses where heavy rains and winds struck them simultaneously.


According to PAG-ASA, at 4 p.m. today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "ULYSSES" is located at 200 km West of Iba, Zambales.
